Beautiful catch, Kevin! Blue skies, yet clouds. Steam tourist train, yet no crowds in the scene. Such luck! All at 2:30 or so, when the light could not be better. A real gem, here!

This is a great photo, love the old time Wild West style locos, with the big spark arrester chimney (smoke stack?) and cowcatcher. Great image lots of depth of feild .

Thanks for your explanation of the Steam Into History operations, Kevin. Friends and I rode this train the week before your photo, and we reckoned that on the first half of the excursion you go "backward in time" to the mid-1860's and then "go forward in time" back to the present day. The backward running aside, the folks at SIH are very welcoming and put a lot of effort into historical recreation.
