The rotary's on the Donner route are pretty amazing, they don't use them every year but when the snow gets really deep they are a must. The route through Donner gets more snow on average per year than anyplace on earth and when the storms come from the south they can drop 4 feet of snow in 24 hours. Other places on earth are colder but few if any get more snow.

Uh? Phil, there are three rotaries. The third one is behind the one on the right. What is that two story yellow machine on the left?

Actually if you look to the left of the center rotary, two of them are sitting nose to nose on the adjacent track.

There are at least 5 of them sitting there.
