Something about Nitro and lightning just don't mix! Well done, once again Chase!!

As someone who enjoys weather photography as much as railfaning, this is the best of both worlds. Nice grab on the lightning, those are always impressive photos.

The black NS unit almost blends in to the sky, making the lightning even more noticeable. Well done.

What a great shot. I would guess a lot of skill and a little luck. Most deserving of the Screeners Choice it received.

Very nice! I love the purple colors. With my fear of lighting, I'd have been hiding under the car instead of outside with a camera.

I enjoy a good lightning show but not the destruction it can bring. I try to capture it but fail every time. Thankfully, Mr. Gunnoe, you do it for me! Thanks yet again.

Always wondered what happen if train gets struck by lighting it's nothing but metal every where. Had lighting bolt hit my frieghtliner it blew computer bits and blowed out my steer tires was no fun 65 mph.

I'm with Jeff on this one re the lightning But not sure a car is a good place to hide! Great Photo, don't think that I've ever seen a purple sky before nicely captured.
