Where does the engineer put his legs? He obviously can't put them under the "desk". Just curious.

Actually there is a lot more leg room than it looks, those new upright stands are more spacious than those over desktop stands with everything to the side of you, you don't have to be all the way forward crouched over those desktop controls

Not a comment, just a question. How might I legally be invited to observe the interior of a newer model Railroad Engine Cab, and possibly have the opportunity to take a short journey down the Tracks with the Engineer and Conductor? I love trains, and would like to see one up close and personal.

In answer to Triplebuc69, I have to say that unless you know someone who works on the railroad as an engineer or maybe you can get a ride at a heritage line of some sort, its extremely unlikely in this day and age of over the top health and safety and security. Any engineer caught letting someone ride in the cab without official permission will more than likely face instant dismissal. A private heritage line would be your best chance.

I agree. I would love to take a trip down the tracks, but how?
