Thanks for sharing Steve. An interesting tidbit is I took a tour of Amtrak's Beech Grove facilities in 1992 or so. We were told that the employees there put up a large tarp to cover their efforts so visiting Washington, D.C. folks would not see that they were rebuilding the 301. The totally cannabilized the 246 for parts to build a new 301.

This train wreck was on "display" at Denver Union Station for quite some time before it was removed. I wonder if it ever discouraged anyone from riding on Amtrak!

This train wreck remained at Denver Union Station for quite sometime before it was removed. I wonder if this display scared-off any Amtrak riders?
