Not fast enough!

As a railfan I like the train element in this photo. My wife, the non railfan wants to know what the operating hours are for the bingo emporium in Nampa. She spotted the Bingo sign in the background.

As a now retired locomotive engineer,I like Tugboat's attitude.I wonder if it is the comment about wide cabs in general,or that these are junk electrics(GE's)?EMD's are more likely to get rebuilt more than once than any GE.

Unless CN decides to buy these too...

There were some SD60s and a lone SD40-2 but the vast majority were C41-8Ws and C40-8s. Some looked like they were in horrible condition with tweaked frames while others seemed in pretty good shape with newer paint.

Pretty amazing that it seems to make more since to scrap them than re-build them. I wonder if it is a tax issue or some other reason.

Hey...CSX here is a solution to your power crunch! Ha ha...not...Shame to see these things in the scrap line...the ones that can be rebuilt should be...heck if GE re-powered these with GEVO prime movers or make them more efficient something like Progressive Rail is doing. That is just a thought.

I saw a long line of Dash 8 power over near MEC (Alorton IL), assuming they will meet the scrapper's torch soon. I think road numbers were in the 1800's (maybe).
