Pretty cool to see a photo like this from within the Lima Works. Most that you see are general over views of the shop rather than detailed angles showing the men at work. Thanks for sharing.

Just a wonderful photograph and history. Ron, the part that struck me was when you mentioned how these were built from scratch. It's almost hard to believe things used to be that way. Having worked for then-Guilford in Waterville, Maine in the early 2000s, some of the long-time employees would tell me of the many specialty areas of work that used to be performed in the old days. These shops and yards were largely self sufficient.
