Having a disused trestle near me when I was growing up, this photo sends me right back to my childhood! I can feel the August heat, sense the butterflies in my stomach, and smell the creosote. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Simple photo beautifully composed and meaningful. I really appreciate your in depth narrative, Mr. Keller, and wish such detailed descriptions would accompany more photos on this site. It's terrific to know what the picture taker is thinking at the time of capture as it brings personalized feeling to the viewer helping me to see the photo through your eyes.
