You know, I wasn't sure how good this scheme would look on anything but a cab unit, but it truly looks outstanding on this duo!

These EMD SD40-2's were built between Jan 1972 and Oct 1989 with 3,982 produced in a C-C wheel configuration. Rated at 3,000 hp, turbocharged and powered by a 16-645E3 V16, with 40" drivers. The reliability and versatility of this beauty made it the best-selling model in EMD's history. It became the standard of the industry for several decades. It also has seen service in Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and Guinea. As of 2013, nearly all built have remained in service. A "jewel".
