These engines were JUNK when in service on the UP! I thought that by the time they departed Burnham shops in Denver after being in storage, that they were all pretty well stripped. I never knew that they ran on the KCS in lease service, Great catch!

Not sure the count that the KCS leased these junk engines for around 6 months before returning them all back to the leasing company. Think they had 10 to 15 of them I think. They did cause a lot of problem for the KCS. Someone must of made the KCS a sweet deal to lease them in the first place.

There were 40 of these EMLX SD90MAC-H's leased to KCS for a 1 year period. After the KCS lease some were leased to the Buffalo & Pittsburgh, the Wheeling & Lake Erie and Ferromex.
