The ladies backed up. Why? What if were two men? Would they also back up? Would anyone have the presence of mind to simply go forward?

I apologize if caption irritated you. Was not trying to imply driving skill was gender-related. Was not trying to make any point. Was simply describing what happened when human driver made decisions that put both human occupants of car in danger: 1. deciding to stop only after being squarely on track, and 2. deciding to put car in reverse and back off track rather than just releasing brakes.
