I had a good friend who is now deceased that owned a fishing/rafting/camping lodge right on the Loup Creek. This photo looks to be taken just down the road from that camp. We used to sit on the porch of his general store and watch those RJ Corman locos go on that run from Thurmond to Pax several times a day. One day one of the railroad workers came over to the camp with a 5' timber rattler he had caught on those very tracks (yes, it was still alive). Great memories and a wonderful photo. Thanks for posting.
