The Progress rail facility in Kentucky is located on the site of the former Louisville & Nashville rail yard which was called De Coursey Yard. When I last visited that facility they were building Pre - Fabricated, High Speed switches to be used on the North East Corridor by and for Amtrak. One of these very long switches was completely assembled on the work floor and all aspects of it were being measured to make sure it was as designed. I would feel safe to say that the switch I saw that day is still in use today.
