At first I thought he was holding one of those old movie camera's until I read the description that's a big radio! It's also weird to see all those railroad employees and none are wearing the safefty vests and only one has a hard hat. And it looks like the guy on the left is talking to the dispatcher some else you don't see today! Thanks for a look at how things used to be.

Great photo . I would have asked him if he was posing for a picture .

1969 Nick, that safety stuff just got in the way back then ;)

These LV guys were REALLY unhappy that I was there with a camera. One was a special agent (probably the guy wearing a hat), who wanted to know how I happened to be there taking pictures. As if the activity was not plainly visible from two streets and an A&P parking lot!

Would have been great if you told him that you were taking the picture so that 40+ years from now, you could post it on the Internet.

I really, REALLY wish you would have taken some shots from my favorite bridge (behind you in this shot) over the ex-Valley main, so you could see the overall scene! It'll remain my favorite until they rebuild it, at which point no doubt they'll ruin it for photography forever by putting up those damn high chain link fences on it!
