Young children or young at heart adults will spend hours looking at this picture and dream up untold, miriads, of adventures in thier minds as I know I will because this is my next desk top screen. Walter, thank you so much for the dreams you have just given so many people. PCA from me for sure.

Proof positive that you don't need a train to create a compelling railroad image. Very nice catch, Walter. Perfectly processed as well.

A very idyllic scene with great atmosphere and beauty. I have expect an old 10-wheeler with a ballon stack pulling a circus train to come around the corner...

We get to see the rickety, rackety failing railroads so often, it's wonderful go see a minor road in such good condition. The background and wildlife add interest.

This is one of those photo's you want to blow up frame it and hang on the wall and let everybody just stare at and ask Where did you get that beautiful picture at? Very well done Walter. There are no words for a picture like this......just stunning

Light, the single most import ingredient outside the photographer themselves. I had to come back and comment again Waler. This is something all neophyte photographers have to learn.

Wonderful image, Walter! Proof that a great railroad photo doesn’t have to have a train…

So glad to see this as the #1 PCA, Walter. Well-deserved. With 32 comments and 187 favorites, I am envious. And look at all of the albums that picked it up as well!

Walter... So pleased to see your photo make the #1 PCA spot. Congrats, you deserve it! This photo makes me feel like I'm there standing right next to you, which I believe is one of the most important qualities in a photograph. Your photo should also teach us a valuable lesson about being in a familiar place and finding something new. I'm glad you followed your "gut" feeling to stop so we all can enjoy this wonderful image. Thanks so much and please take a well deserved bow.
