I just retired from a major contractor working at Whiting’s BP refinery. BP is now in process of spending well over $4 billion on this facility in order to process Canadian crude (tar sands) oil which will be piped here from Alberta, CA. This crude will produce much more of the “heavy ends” which include asphalt and coke. Most of these two products will be handled by rail which I imagine will require expansion of the yard facilities as shown here.

I really like this shot, good perspective of America's industries. Were you on public ground when you took this pictures, I like the "bird's eye" view. Well Done
