It would be a shame to let them all rust away to scrap. It's probably safe to say there's not many 1907 ore cars around to rebfurbish for a collection. Wish I had room for one.

I hope they get sent to be preserved somewhere. I think Rock Island had a few of those cars that came from one of the DM&IR’s processors.
