Wild - that plow makes her look like a narrow gauge steam dragster.

Very sad. She would look very cool all fixed up. For whatever reason, I could see a 1218 style look to her. Anyways, added to favs. Nice work and history Kevin!

I actually thought the same thing. When I just glanced at the thumbnail it looked like and old N&W articulated rotting away. Great photo Kevin.

Agreed, Very Very sad to see something like this. Not to start anything, but it's a shame out government has money to give everyone free Smart phones and all kinds of other free stuff, but they can't even restore something that once was a workhorse for our own country. Very awesome Capture Kevin, Thanks for sharing.

This is very nice shot ! Here in Greece we have 10 steam locos of this type (meter gauge line) without the snow plow. Especially no 7108 is in good condition and after some money and repairs can run again. The last year that this steam run was in 1992.

Thank you for adding this old gal to the database Kevin.

I'm glad that you were able to let everybody know of her distress. Hopefully somebody can find the funds to find her a new home

Very sad picture to see, but loved your history lesson Kevin. Wonder why someone hasn't started a 'friends of old steamers' club, and started trying to talk larger cities, or even the larger rail lines in saving more of these for posterity.

The word "Disneyworld" comes to mind.

"Rust Never Sleeps".

Talk about a picture that tells a story, here it is. A sad story to be sure, and yet - it still exists. Thanks Kevin.

Congrats on the TS Kevin!

Well.... what needs to happen is the town or who ever owns it needs to auction it off, or someone needs to set up a trust to move and restore it if feasable. They do it all the time in GB. We don;t do it enough here. Hell, they raised enough money to build a completely new Steam Engine of which there were no surviving class members. Talk about motivated.

Great shot! Is the engine easily accessible to anyone or is permission needed? I am hoping to visit Alaska in 2014 and if I can't see/photograph 195 I probably wont even bother going to Skagway. I have ridden behind and in 190 numerous times at Tweetsie and would love to see one of her "sisters" before it completely rusts away.
