The large yellow item located in the upper left, is part of the left half of the dump bed of a large Caterpillar "Quarry Truck". Please note that none of the cab's overhead protective piece is here, as well as the right side of the dump bed. As is the case with all of Caterpillar's largest products, the phrase that came with many Christmas gifts "Some assembly is required". In this case a number of days of assembly is needed, prior to operation.

There was a pretty significant amount of CAT equipment on the barge and I am pretty sure it is all on there (you can see a bunch tucked in down the center). Some of it is up top and some of it is on freight cars. Talking with the guy who was in charge of the barge and its trip to Alaska was telling me in the past 40 years the barges have quadrupled in size, from 200x50' to 450x200'! The trip will take 6-7 days in good weather and up to a month in bad. There are currently 4 barges that rotate from Seattle to Alaska constantly.

Very nice shot of a rarely seen operation. The ARR's gateway to the North American rail network.
