Awesome job to both NS and all of the employees at the Juniata Locomotive Shop! This unit looks fantastic! Soon, NS is going to have more special schemes than UP!

Even a "unibrow" dresses up "right purity" with a little color.

Since black is the traditional color for POW-MIA, I wonder if there is any reference to that on the engine anywhere? I wonder if they could add a POW-MIA logo somewhere on the black part?

This is reminiscent of the bicentennial units almost forty years ago.

Great paint job. Makes me even more proud to be an American. Proud to be a N.S. fan.

Wow. Amazingly good looking. I was expecting something much less, but it actually looks good. Good job NS! God bless our veterans and troops.

As a veteran (USAF 1992-2006), I always appreciate recognition like this. Really makes me proud to have served.

What a great shot! Love how it flows from the red, white, and blue to the NS black.

Fantastic shot, Casey! As a Navy vet, I am proud to to see that patriotism is alive and well on the NS. That is great that after the Heritage Program, NS would allow funds to honor all vets. Thank you, NS, for remembering us. It is appreciated greatly!

The red overlap on the roof reminds me of the super heater on some steamers.

This vet salutes Norfolk Southern for honoring all the veterans who serve our nation so selflessly. I also salute all the railfans who have served and still serve. Thanks for this wonderful photo.

I agree, it reminds me of the Bicentennial Units of the mid 70's, but this is for a much better cause. Thank you Veterans and thank you NS Corp.

Amazing! As a veteran myself, this means a lot. NS has really given us a lot to be happy about this year. It's rare that a profitable business is willing to go out of its way to give fans a little extras.

NS can honor veterans, but is Veterans Day a company holiday? I know it isn't on all railroad, even those that praise themselves for hiring lots of veterans. A nice gesture by NS!

Thanks NS! This AFSOC Vet salutes you! Any hints of a POW MIA unit?

Ive always said it, what with the heritage units etc, you guys in the U.S just know how to paint a locomotive! Awesome job guys.

Not a criticism, just an obsevance, but the front part reminds me of Metra F40's.

NS sets the benchmark for what all companies should reach for. Truly a first class outfit!

I guess the People's Choice award is for the paint on the locomotive, not so much the composition of the photograph itself. That said, this is a nice roster shot
