Also of note, yet often forgotten is that the museum actually maintains 4, yes 4 (!), operational steam locomotives. In addition to the Mason and St. Elizabeth, the Tom Thumb and Lafayette, both 1927 built replicas, are coal burners and fully FRA certified and maintained to operate under steam. Expect one or the other out next year as the Mason has run up it's 15 year clock. The Mason will make one last run, to bring Santa & Mrs. Clause into the roundhouse to kick off the annual holiday festivities at the Museum on Friday, November 23 at 10:30 am.
