Nice shot. For my money this is the best looking Amtrak locomotive. Pepsi can, yeah, yeah, at least it looks like a locomotive and not some grey blob.

This miserable piece of junk was shoved down the throats of us LA engineers early 1991.We all called them trash 8's.The HEP took 1100 hp from the traction power,and left you only 2100 hp for traction!They put these on my assignment 35/36.The term train handling was moot with all the computers.I was told by the man who bought them,they paid 1.75 million each for them.My asst. engineer and myself ripped that guy a new one from Victorville,CA to San Bernardino,CA on #35 one afternoon!I later was later told he quit AMT about a month after that.
