Wow, what a rare lashup! The U25Bs trailing are pretty cool, too. Very nice!

A rare three-builder lashup on the UP where each locomotive is a 2500 h.p. 'building block' locomotive (or twin-engined equivalent). UP acquired all this stuff in escalating concepts like "unit consolidation" as part of a horsepower race in the early 1960s, looking for larger and larger locomotives. Alco offered their RS27 about the same time EMD came up with the SD24/GP20/GP30. GE entered the domestic market with the U25B. UP still wasn't satisfied--what can you do with putting TWO power plants on a single under frame? This resulted in the C855, DD35A and cabless DD35, and two versions of the double-U25B, U50 and U50C. Quite a menagerie UP had back then! Thanks, Steve!
