I once read some time ago that the engineers thought the world of these engines.These were dual controlled engines,but I think CNW removed the second control stand and now led short hood forward.

My understanding was that while they could pull like the dickens, they were spine breakers and switch eaters.

I used to run the old BN U25C's Denver to Pueblo,CO.Those tri-mount trucks,you felt every joint in the rail.
