Great shot Mitch!

Who says you can't get a dark-nose diesel shot on this site? Excellent, Mitch! Judging by the shadows in the foreground, it looks like you nailed this baby just a couple of minutes before sunset.

This is an absolutely stunning image! Well done.

A spectacular image! This photo has so much going for it-- perfect clouds, headlight in shadow, great light, a clean and tidy ROW and roadway (even the farm is tidy!). Beautiful photo, beautiful train! PCA, definitely!

You nailed it, Mitch! PCA vote for me.

Aah, perseverance pays off. Glad you kept trying, I really like this one!

Classic scene, beautifully captured and processed! PCA from me.

Gorgeous shot, Mitch! Congrats on the SC and you'll have a PCA vote coming your way from me!

If that's not the quintessential Streamliner shot, I don't what is!

Gorgeous. Beautifully framed!

Another perfectly composed and beautiful shot from Mr. Goldman. These shots of the Nebraska Zephyr romping over the CB&Q bring back memories of the sixties and watching the real McCoy back then and my trips behind ole 5632 & 4960.

It really is a spectatuclar shot, Mitch... evokes the feeling of an era long gone when this is what America was. Tremendous job.

Your cigar box is filling up. Think of the neat stuff you will be able to pull out when you reach my age! That is a wonderful picture. You should send it to the CB&Q passenger department, it would make a wonderful ad for their passenger service. That Schultz guy must be some driver.

Not on only a beautifully composed shot but one that takes us back to the glamor years of streamliners and showcases what a beautiful train EMD, Budd and CB&Q produced. I can't help but think that Jon Lovitz and Geena Davis ("A League of Their Own") are sitting in that observation car.

It's too bad CB&Q didn't have a time machine because this photo would easily have been featured on one of their company calendars way back when.... Congratulations on this excellent, excellent shot.

This is too cool! Awesome job.

Thanks for all the kind comments! It was quite a sight to see when it wasn't leaving us in a trail of dust. GPS readings had the Zephyr traveling way above posted auto speed limits, and easily matched Amtrak's fastest trains on the route traveled. The Silver Pilot and the Train of the Goddesses (The Nebraska Zephyr) has long been one of my all time favorite trains from my favorite railroad. Articulated, streamlined and high speed, - the train was ahead of it's time and could easily look in place some 50 years later. Your comments are most appreciated and I will forward to Tom Schultz (a sporadic RP poster and well know TRAINS magazine contributor) who was within a few feet of me and managed to capture equally impressive images throughout the day including one nearly identical.

My goodness, Mitch ... that is absolutely beautiful! Rich as an oil painting, and perfectly captures middle America. A true pleasure to look at.

Mitch, this is one of your best shots ever...heck, truly one of THE best shots I have ever seen on this site. You continue to impress me. Thanks for sharing.

Outstanding Mitch, what a nice looking train!

A beautiful image of one of the most beautiful trains to ever ply the rails. A wall hanger for sure.

Are we sure this isn't a painting? My family rode this train once several years ago on a visit to the IRM.

You could not have picked a better location to show off this train. Sweet shot!

PERFECT... As Electro-Motive and the CB&Q intended.
