Anyword on what happened to this railroad? Are they still operating or was a new owner found?

I need to go shoot this line ASAP. Your great coverage of it has moved it quickly up my list. Awesome stuff, JR.

Any word if they ever got any track yet?

Thanks, they are still running and under the same ownership currently. Track gangs have been hard at work and progress is moving the railroad forward. Many other railroads have enjoyed a boom just hauling the sand in for transloading, much of that sand starts here. This railroad takes unit trains of processed sand out from the mine company plants and also has some inbound sand that gets resin coated, before being sent back out again. Add in the wheat harvest and some other traffic from various customers and you have yourself a very profitable railroad. It is what I consider the most scenic railroad in Texas, just an opinion though.
