I've noticed in everyone's shots, and in my trips out to the Apache as well, that the C424's are always the ones belching out the smoke whenever engineer Kevin gives the concist a "goose" for the photogs. The C420's seem to run pretty clean, usually at least. Interesting......

6 Alco's in 2012? Wow! I can imagine the sound let alone the plumes of smoke from them.

Seems to me that Frac sand might save the Apache. Not a bad consist for a railroad that just lost it's biggest customer. Long live the Apache!

This is a great shot Ted! Love the Alco smoke on this, really shows them working hard to earn their keep. And to b ketchen - The Arkansas & Missouri railroad has an all Alco roster and for the past 3 months has been running 7 to 8 C420's on the nightly southbound road freight out of A&M's headquarters in Springdale, AR heading to its interchange point in Van Buren, AR. Also called the "Fort Smith Turn".
