She looks beautiful Dennis. This is a locomotive that I wish I could have seen in action.

Wow...that Reading T1 looks brand new! Quick, someone get some water and coal, fire her up and get her out on the hi iron! As a side note, my first live steam locomotive I saw was her sister the 2101. Thanks for sharing.

2124 is one of ten 2100's that were equipped with roller bearings. While she made no sound that I could discern, you should have heard the track pop and bang and squeal with her passing. But just to walk beside her, for about 2000', seeing those big 70" drivers roll over and over was mesmerizing. She hasn't rolled under her own steam in over 50 years. May she rise again!

I rode behind her in September '61.

The first steamer I rode behind. I don't know the speed we were making, but walking through the coaches was a bit challenging. Since her fame came as a Reading Ramble engine, I would hope that her passenger striping is restored at some point. It's just as prototypical as the freight scheme!
