Very interesting pic. So, Santa Fe dash-8's were junk. I wasn't aware of that fact. Live and learn I guess.

Haha oh yeah big time. Maybe not when they were delivered but certainly in recent times. The ex CNW units the CN got are much better liked, even the blue bomber units are more well liked than the ex ATSF Dash 8's, generally speaking.

What power one engineer or conductor likes to work on the next one doesn't. In other words...one man's "junk" is another man's treasure. At least that's what I've found in my 34 years in the cab. So I personally don't put much stock in "I was told this by somebody" accounts.
