Apparently the derailment wasn't severe enough to trigger an ICC investigation, even though it involved a passenger train. No. 39 had lost most of its head end business, and even the RPO by this time, and was usually carrying only a single coach. Would be interesting to see the railroad's investigation of what happened, and see the full train consist.
