The "H" actually means that it is equipped with high adhesion software that will allow it to generate 200,000 pounds of tractive effort below 10mph instead of 180,000 pounds like standard CW44ACs. You are correct in saying they are heavier too. Both the DC and AC versions of the ES44 are 432,000 pounds each.

I had the privalige or riding on one of these beast pulling 15,500 tons on it's journey to Plant Harlee. Most folks would never be able to imgine how much power these engines have. You see them running down the rails and it doesn't register what is going on. These beast can get down and crawl. Thanks for sharing!
