I want to know, why are the tracks all over grown here if its this active and how do the trains not derail as some photographs like this show the tracks in terrible shape??

It is gauged and tied, the weeds just make it look bad. The locomotive is coming down from the main to a siding and is dipping down to it off the main switch. Sometimes a telephoto can make things look a little more intense, but yeah the weeds just need some spraying.
