How many will notice the difference in the layout of the cab appliances from the normal United States position of the same. This applies to the Q J 2-10-2 types as well

Enough time has been given and there is a hint in this photo as to what is different. Looking closely at the left of Jeff's photo, an arm and hand is visible on a valve. That arm and hand belong to the engineer. Chinese steam locomotives have reversed controls from those of United States manufacture. Thus the Chinese engineer sits on the left side of the cab and the American engineer sits on the right side of the cab.
