Does anyone know if the Georgia & Florida would be part of the Norfolk Southern's heritage units. My late grandfather worked for the G&F branch from Augusta,GA to Greenwood,SC.

The Georgia and Florida was (or became) a subsidiary of the Southern Railway. You should still be able to get a copy of the Spring 2012 Classic Trains magazine (from Kalmbach Publications) which has a four page "retrospective" of the Georgia & Florida's history near the beginning of the magazine under "Fallen Flags."

I will try to get my facts straight--this time. First Kalmbach Publications "Classic Trains" Spring 2012 issue has a 4 page history of the G & F and you may still be able to get a copy of this from them. Second, the Georgia & Florida was owned by the Southern Railway for all of eight years and since it only existed for 56 years, that means it spent four-fifths of its 56 years in bankruptcy (this is a quote from the article mentioned above). Therefore it is highly unlikely to be included in the Heritage system.
