As stated before, loaded livestock cars were normally carried on the head end as priority freight. In this case, close examination of this wonderful view reveals that this is a double deck livestock car loaded with sheep. Looking closely we can see white sheep just above the bottom side board, and also just above the sixth side board. That sixth side board rests on the board ends of the second.deck. As a young boy of twelve to fifteen years old I loaded many of these cars, but they were either L. & N. or C.& O. and went to Chicago on The L. & N.
