The "Kantonslokomotiven" had chrome stripes around their bodies. The one shown here is a "Städtelokomotive". These had blazons of Swiss cities ("Städte") and villages, instead of cantons on their sides. In a few years, like the Ae 6/6, the double-slip switches shown under the locomotive will be gone. The Swiss rail-system is in a constant process of changing.
