Great piece of history!

Wow - what a catch. Looks like something that would be featured on History Channel's "80's Tech". Glad one was preserved in Toronto!

Make that two - another is preserved in Montreal! Too bad not one in Amtrak livery stateside.

Yes, it was a surprise to me. Was visiting my sister in Sarnia and took a ride past the station and there it was. I remember when VIA purchased LRC's as 6900's, they were quite noisy when stopped as the HEP unit was always revving pretty hard. The Sarnia station looks better now since the brick has been cleaned back to it's natural colour.

Looks like 'Back To The Future' Delorean made as a locomotive, even the look of stainless steal on it. Fantastic look and great photo. Thanks for the share Dave. I would love to see more of this locomotive series.

Wow, I'd never seen (or heard about) the demo unit. Thanks for sharing!

When I worked at Canadian Pacific in Montreal (1974-1976), this unit and the one tilting coach was touring. So I'd say this is about 1975.
