OK, this is a CP train. Honest. N&W often allowed CP to use their Canadian F7s and GP7 on a regular per-trip arrangement. It made railfanning the CP a really interesting experience. The patient fan would see a yellow CP "van" on the rear of this train. CP also used New York Central or Chesapeake & Ohio "Canadian units" on the same terms. It made sense to all parties involved, and made money for the owners of the units, and CP got power when they needed it.

I don't think so. This was definitely a CN train as indicated by the train number 462. Also, CP did not run Ontario Northland units that I ever saw. When I lived there CP used New York Central units on the Starlight and Kinnear trains. Perhaps this is what you were thinking of.
