This picture was taken in front of the Day Street Gate of Maxwell AFB on the west side of Montgomery, AL. The building in the background right is the Piknik bread bakery, the track peeling off to the left runs/ran into the POL farm for Maxwell AFB. Bell Street runs adjacent to this trackage and becomes Birmingham Hwy/US Hwy 31 just behind the photographer. Dunno if this helps with the picture or not, but I grew up on this side of Montgomery (born in 83) and very much remember the area.

You nailed the location. Back in the '70s I shot from the overpass a few times with no problems. Doubt you could do that now. Not as much to see here these days...
