Nice detail shot. I grew up in Southern RR country, Atlanta. Walked the tracks as a child waiting for the next train to come by. Spend many a day, all day waiting for my next thrill. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with the above comments. I too lived in a town where Southern operated regularly until the late 1980's when NS abandoned the lines. Now the state of Georgia owns them and leases them to a subsidiary of Genessee and Wyoming. The only bright star is that we now have a turn table and the TVRM operates during the fall and runs a fall excursion trips every autumn with five runs. We always hope for steam motive power but sometimes we get an old GP9 that used to be owned by the USAF!
