Nice shot, would like to see what this area looks like today.

I took a look at the current view in Google Earth. A number of modest commercial buildings stand just past the access road. The large field beyond contains six baseball fields. At the extreme upper right, Amtrak has a maintenance of way yard. Most notably, this is where southbound Amtrak trains can really accelerate to high speed on their way to Philadelphia. Thanks to all for the faves- a great welcome to RP.

A transplanted Californian now, but my heart is still a PRR fan. Raised in Atlantic City, N.J., so I grew up watching the trains of the Pennsylvania Reading Seashore Lines. Moved to Philadelphia where I saw my first electrified engine a GG1 up close. Then in 1967 saw the E44, fell in love with the beauty. I love the straight lines of the engine, man did I love the box appearance, and still love it today. I wish it were still in service today. But that’s the nature of change, when something good comes along someone always wants to change it. Well it’s gone, but not in not forgotten. IT’S ONE BEAUTIFUL ENGINE. Thanks for the memories...
