Have worried about the dog for years. Tried repeatedly to coax him out, to no avail. Clear standing water at bottom of pit, and we gave him food. Animal shelter was adjacent to yard, but closed for weekend. Always hoped/figured crews would alert shelter staff.

Among the things to disappear were/are the branch line network that radiated out of Columbus. The line down to the papermill at Mahrt is about to be shortlined leaving exactly ZERO NS branch lines where many used to exist

Thank you, Mr. Carter. When I started shooting in the early 1970s, I griped a lot about what was gone - steam, pre-Amtrak passenger service, Fs, Alcos, manned depots every few miles... Little did I expect how much more sterilization would take place along the rails.
