Tony Stewart approves of this photo. (And I love the delightful little tale told in the caption.)

Gentlemen: Thanks to everyone for your positive comments! It's unfortunate I didn't have a way to record the sounds these three old U-boats made that afternoon. I wanted to add a little more information about the Prairie Central in my remarks, however, there is virtually no information available on the Internet or in print. I recall the railroad's existance was brief and troubled with motive power problems, poor track, derailments (some were major) and financial woes. In spite of this, the railroad did move a fair amount of tonnage and if I remember correctly, the train above was a lengthy one! If anyone has more information they can share about the Prairie Central, please feel free to do so.

I moved away from the area in early 1984. It was sometime after that when I made the sad discovery that the PRR tracks were gone. At least now it's confirmed that it was after 1983. Nice photo to post. Thank you.
