Another odd number for the SBD. Especially considering the SCL and L&N C30-7's received their "proper" CSX numbering scheme from the start (7xxx). Interesting comment about the U36C and Clinchfield. They were "swapped" to the SCL in 1977 (after 6 years) for SD45's on a 1-1 basis (SCL 2038-2044). I had always heard it was because the Clinchfield mechanics in Erwin couldn't keep them running. They were the only non-EMD units on the roster. I would say that the CRR got the better deal out of that trade...
