Oh the joyous blissful ignorance of it all! Today's over the top OSH would have a field day with this. No harnesses for being on top of the rail vehicle, no high vis, no protective gear for working with the chemicals, and I doubt sunscreen was in anybodies mind either. A great photo of simpler times. Well done.

This piece of equipment looks "kit bashed" from an old steam engine tender and a boxcar. It's a very good photo of an interesting piece of MofW equipment. I also agree with the comment that OSHA would be having a "hissy panic attack" over this kind of operational practice of the crew on top of this car today! I also like the self-description on the side of this equipment too: "M OF W WEED EXTERMINATOR"! As if to distinguish itself as being better than a weed "SPRAYER"!
