Of the many things I lament having being born too late to see, the U25B era is certainly near the top of the list. Being less than 2 hours from Buffalo, it would have been a era I easily could have seen, too. The parade of U25B's through Silver Creek, NY, was described as 'neat' to me by one intrepid railfan that was there. NYC 2517 surely would have passed there many times over it's service life. Again, thanks for sharing these gems with us, Donald.

The communications lines make it a different era also. Very nice lighting Don on the leaves and the glass insulators.

Oh, man. It has been a while, hasn't it? The autos were built at Framingham. The site of that plant is still awaiting full redevelopment. I also loved those open auto racks, since I could always see some interesting iron roll by. The U25Bs were tempermental beasts, able to smoke it up like any Alco.
