Awesome stuff as always, Tom. I'd love to see more from Plymouth if you have it, especially if you ever shot the old Mackeys/Edenton bridge. Your photos are a great asset to railfans!

In 1973 we are of course looking at the original Norfolk Southern, which was a minor subsidiary of N&W or SOU (forget which) when the 1982 merger necessitated its being renamed so that the parent could take the former subsidiary's name.

The Norfolk Southern was a 750 mile wholly independent railway until its purchase and absorption by the Southern RY. on Jan. 1 of 1974. It was never a minor subsidiary.
