From an excerpt on the inside jacket cover of Alvin Stauffer's book "Pennsy Power", Mr. Stauffer stated that this "stalwart little B6sb class" locomotive #5244 (seen in your picture) had the honor of being the last operating Pennsy steam locomotive from the PRR steam era - operating at New Egypt until July of 1959. She was transferred from New Egypt to West Philly Enginehouse where her fire was dropped for the final time ending the 113 year steam history of the PRR which included nearly twenty-five thousand steam locomotives. Thanks for sharing a glimpse of this famous little locomotive!
