Great shot Jeremy! PA's in freight service in 1977, wish I had headed to D&H land instead of spending so much time in the upper mid-west.

Must have been a joy to chase these wonderful machines.

Jeremy, you keep one-upping yourself. Beauty!

Save all your common power high sun shots that you get rejected fellow RP.net'ers. In 25 years they could be potential POW's. Love the D&H paint scheme. The "East Coast Santa Fe".

Wow!

High sun can work if you are shooting downward (and the subject is the superb PA4)! I paced these many times, but don't recall any freight work- always something different. And how about those boxcars? No graffiti! Wish the carriers could find a way to combat the "artists".

Only just found this Jeremy. Didn't realised the PAs ran as late as '77 - wish I'd made the trip to see them.

Thanks for posting this beautiful shot. I like Carl Massart,s comment calling the D&H the east coast Santa Fe.
