The front truck on this locomotive is a four wheeled standard EMD freight truck. A GP38-2 for sure but to be an SD38-2 would require a pair of three axle trucks. I think that it's time to run a new series of "The Diesel Spotter's Guide" books by Jerry A. Pinkepank, for the many people making identification errors lately. It is also possible that some of the the staff screening photographs are simply looking at photo quality and not catching identification errors.

Thanks for pointing out the typo. I will submit a correction as I do recognize this as a GP38-2 (especially since it is clearly identified as such on the cab by NS).
